If you’ve stayed with us at The Bedford Swan this year or walked by our Great Ouse riverside 18th-century spa hotel your curiosity may have been awakened by the refurbishment works taking place.
We are currently in the second phase of our £5million refurbishment following the purchase of the hotel by Distinct Group, who also own our sister hotel, The Cromwell in Old Stevenage as well as our favourite place to eat and drink, Rump and Wade British Brasserie.
Phase One has included the refurbishment of The Swan’s two main function rooms and the introduction of our brand-new British Brasserie, Pen & Cob.
Pen & Cob, overlooking the embankment, is our new art-deco inspired British Brasserie, with a signature cocktail list, exclusive British menu and inspiring wine and drinks list, all served in our unique contemporary/boutique style – you’ll want to be first to dine at Pen & Cob this month.
We’ve transformed the former restaurant area with our modern design introducing a new bar and bringing in the elegant feel and presence of the Great River Ouse. All viewed from our floor-to-ceiling windows, ensuring that you will want to have pride of place at the poseur tables! With living-wall inspired prints and our luxury fabric chairs and stools, surrounded by mosaic walls, Pen & Cob’s seasonal dishes won’t be the only thing you’ll be admiring.
The doors are now open for you to join us, so be sure to sign up to our mailing list to be kept up to date with the future plans. We’ll also have a very special announcement for anyone wanting to be first through the doors on the 20th February so make sure you sign up and follow us on Facebook and Instagram.
