We have missed you!
After all those missed anniversary celebrations, birthdays without parties, dinner dates without loved ones, it’s finally time to start easing out of lockdown and we can’t wait to welcome you.
Our General Manager, Malcolm, and all the team here at Pen and Cob have been working hard behind the scenes to ensure we can re-open safely. We’ve made some changes that we know will ensure you receive the usual welcoming, enjoyable and delicious dishes and drinks we are known for.
The brasserie is undergoing a full COVID Risk Assessment by Shield Safety Group as we work to the maximum Safe to Trade status.
Your safety is our priority
We are still the same fantastic brasserie you know but with a few extra steps to ensure you are safe and relaxed during your time with us.
Here are some of the ways we have ensured your safety is our priority:

Keeping distanced but social
Social Distancing: Look out for additional signage around the brasserie and ensure you follow the instructions.
You’ll notice floor markings, posters, banners and protective screens. Please adhere to the guidelines and keep a safe distance from others for your safety and the safety of our staff and other guests.
Shielding: You’ll find sanitising stations at the entrance for your use and screens around the brasserie.
There is now a one-way flow through the brasserie, (entrance through the hotel entrance from the high street end), dedicated queue area for the terrace (round the back of the terrace).
Caring for you by keeping clean
Cleaning: Already an excellent-rated hygiene venue, we have increased cleaning and sanitation even further for all areas. We’ll focus more attention on high traffic areas and guest touch points. Hand sanitiser dispensers have been placed throughout the brasserie.
All staff will now have their temperature taken at the start of each shift.
The new way to order
You will be greeted by a host who will explain how everything works and show you to your table but to let you know before you arrive, we are operating as follows:
Cashless: We’ve removed the need for cash payments. All your payments can be made by debit and credit card.
Ordering: You will find a QR code on all brasserie tables to allow you to view our menus. This also includes drinks as there will be no service at the bar. If you are dining on the terrace, you will only be admitted if there is a table for you.
Food and Beverages
Our brasserie layout has been changed to promote social distancing and safe dining. We have rearranged the bar and kitchen to allow for socially distanced working for our teams.
There will now be single use condiments only throughout the brasserie and food is now served until 9pm.
